The

Rydawell Crew

Rydawell began its journey as a woodworking business in 2010.

While owner/ founder Ryan was on a rock climbing camping trip in 2008, he encountered his first experience of #vanlife long before it was a movement.

He then set out to design a perfect work and weekend camper vehicle and Rydavan 1.0 was born. This van build became internet famous with over 1 million views ,even catching the eye of the vehicle manufacturer themselves who flew up a crew to feature Ryan and the van for a commercial

Since then, the focus has shifted to custom off-grid adventure vehicles. Every build by the Rydawell team is distinct, custom and one-of-a-kind.

FAQs

  • The custom-built vans featured on our website range in price from $15,000 for a minimalist design to $200,000 for a very high-end build. Because each van is unique and tailored to the owner's specifications, the final cost depends on a wide variety of design choices, options, and sizes.

To give you a more specific idea, minimalist builds typically start around $29,000. On average, we've seen completed van conversions, including custom cabinetry, sleeping area, windows, electrical and plumbing systems, solar panels, and more, range from $50,000 to $120,000.

If you have any drawings (bed layout, kitchen, seating), specifications (electrical, plumbing), or inspirational builds from our website or others, we can provide a more accurate estimate. Please fill out our contact form to start the convansation. If you are interested in consultation, we now offer a 1-hour meeting for $150 where we can discuss all things van and help you decide on a van make, size, layout, design, materials and more. This can be done in person or over the phone.

  • We begin with a discussion about your budget, design preferences, and overall vision for your van. Based on this information and our extensive experience, we provide a cost estimate and then draft a contract. We offer two contract options: a fixed-price contract or a time and materials (T&M) contract. We typically recommend the T&M contract because it allows for greater flexibility and ensures a fair outcome for both parties, especially given the unique nature of each custom build.

Our process usually involves a collaborative design and build approach, where we can easily accommodate changes and modifications along the way.

Once the design is finalized, you'll deliver your van to our shop in Seattle. We work with clients from all over the country, so don't hesitate to reach out even if you're not local.

  • We take great pride in our craftsmanship and attention to detail, ensuring that each project is unique and tailored to your specific needs.

Due to the bespoke nature of our work, the timeframe for a full conversion typically ranges from 12 to 24 weeks. Simpler projects, like our "Star Wagon" model, can be completed in as little as 3 weeks, while more complex builds, such as "Yonder", may take up to 30 weeks. On average, you can expect a custom, one-of-a-kind build to be completed in approximately 2 to 4 months.

  • We hold all projects in queue with a deposit that ensures a spot on our schedule. We most likely will have time for smaller projects when they can be fit in. Usually, we are booked approximately 2-6 months for new van builds. Please contact for a updated schedule.
